Welcome to Under the Grill,
This months Aussie boarder is none other than Ryan Slater. Our four legged night dwelling friend was happy enough to catch up after a successful tour of New Zealand, a committed and hard working member of the Aussie ATB scene here's what he had to say.

Name: Ryan slater

Nick name: China, slates

How did you get into the sport?
well I first sore it on planet x TV. I did a bit of research and played the old MBS mountain board game on the internet every IT class. few weeks later I entered a weet bix competition about 100 times and won myself a brand new mbs cricket, everything kinda went from there really.

What board are you currently riding?
MBS comp 16 pro

Favourite aspect of the Aussie ATB world?
hanging around with cool people, and having sick sessions where everyone feeds of each other.

Does Hugh look better in the B1 costume than in real life?
definitely, i think he should hire it out every day.

You recently went over to NZ for the WS at Gravity Hill, what was that like? The world series was unbelievable. The competition was unreal and the park proved very challenging at first but was just darn good fun by the end of the week. it was surreal to be chilling with tom kirkman and the biohazard daisy cutter team. all in all it was a week full of top parties and top riding. pics can be seen at www.atbaustralia.tk

Most influential rider on your style?
dave stiefvator or tom kirkman

You are trapped on an island in the Carribeean, there is a park and board what 3 other items would you have?
Beer, duct tape and a stereo full of cd's.

What is in store for the world of Australian ATB in the next few years?
More comps, more riders, more Rad times.
